Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police reported they were contacted by a individual who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state initial examinations show the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the incident rendered him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
